

I was also told yesterday about a friend whoapos;s best friendapos;s girlfriend died abruptly after an artery in her brain suddenly burst. She fainted two days ago and never woke up again.
They were supposed to get married next year.
Studying Ecclesiates, reading Hobbes and just watching the seasons go by has sparked thoughts about the futility of life these days. How life is fleeting, transient; we give our best to lead a good life (whatever that is in our own definition) but how much of it really matters? We believe we can make a difference, but really whatever we do only matters momentarily, if you see time in its absolute form, for our generation or a few generations before us or after. The great Kings, great warriors of the past while revered and worshipped by their fellow humans, have become nothing but mere names in the dusty old History books that we study, remembered only by a certain few who have an interest in the subject.
I wonder how and why Iapos;ve changed so much. Remembering how I was in secondary school: with only play on my mind, little time given to such thoughts, living for the moment rather than pondering over the future.
Iapos;ve become a lot more cynical; and Iapos;m not sure if I like myself that much anymore.
